Fighting the Epidemic
Amid the coronavirus outbreak, our overseas branches are standing together to take actions to fulfill our corporate responsibility.
The Sri Lanka Branch spontaneously contacted the police stations around Colombo. Learning that their mask reserves were scarce, the staff members of the Sri Lanka Branch donated 3000 face masks to these police stations without delay.
As the epidemic situation in Sri Lanka was getting worse since March, The Sri Lankan government has taken decisive measures to control the development of the epidemic and ensure the lives and safety of the people in Sri Lanka. During this period, the policemen in Sri Lanka have all along been cooperating with the medical staff and the army on the front line and appeared in any place where needed. The masks donated by the Sri Lanka Branch have provided a guarantee for the policemen at work during the epidemic. “China is the best”, said a head of police station.
In response to a call of the Chinese Embassy to the UAE to assist local epidemic prevention and control efforts, the UAE Branch donated epidemic prevention materials to the local communities and won wide praise from the community residents. As the overseas epidemic situation was getting worse, the CPC members stationed in the UAE formed the vanguard team to take the lead in carrying out community anti-epidemic services. During this period, they also actively donated epidemic prevention materials to the nearby post offices, which reflected the Chinese enterprises’ initiative to assume social responsibilities and their confidence and determination in building a line of defense with the local residents to fight the epidemic together.
At the initiative of Chinese Enterprises Association in Malaysia (CENAM), the Malaysia Branch actively rewarded the good deeds of all walks of life in Malaysia by actively donating money through CENAM which were used to purchase medical supplies. These medical supplies were delivered to the Malaysian government agencies, assisting Malaysia’s fight against the epidemic.
In addition to overseas branches’ assistance to local countries, the headquarters of AVIC-ENG also provided a number of face masks, gloves, liquid antiseptics and other epidemic prevention materials to Angola, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries.
